Arsenal are in talks with Real Sociedad over a move for Spain midfielder Miguel Merino. According to Sky Sports.
There is still a lot of work to be done on the deal but the 28-year-old is understood to be keen to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Merino has just one year left on his contract with Real Sociedad.
He played in all seven games for Spain at Euro 2024, scoring the winner in the quarter-final win over Germany.
For Merino, he already has experience in English football, having played for Newcastle in the 2017-18 season. Before moving to Real Sociedad the following year for a fee in the region of €12 million.
For Merino, he enjoyed a fine season last term, making 45 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
Merino’s name may not be familiar to many football fans, and he is considered a journeyman player who has played for many teams. Starting with his first team with Osasuna in 2014. Before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2016, Newcastle United in 2017 and Real Sociedad in 2018 until now.
Merino has also won European championships at youth level with Spain. Winning the 2015 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Before winning the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League with the senior team ahead of Euro 2024.
