Florent Malouda has urged Chelsea to abandon their pursuit of big-money signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis. The Blues
could pay £25million to keep the attacker, who has scored four goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions this season,
but if he fails to exercise his option, Chelsea can reject the deal, pay a £5million fine and return the Freedom Player to Manchester United at the end of the season.
Enzo Maresca’s side also remain in control of their own destiny in the Premier League’s nerve-jangling race for a top-five finish following last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool. But even if the Blues fall short domestically, Malouda believes Chelsea’s season should be considered a success if they pick up European silverware.
