Enzo Maresca has hinted at promising youngster Josh Acheampong’s chances of making his first start for Chelsea when they travel to Kazakhstan to take on Astana.
Acheampong came on as a substitute in the 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Barrow in September. But was benched for two months after failing to agree a new contract. However,
the 18-year-old returned to the reserves last month and has now been training with the Blues’ first-team squad ahead of Thursday’s Conference League trip to Astana.
Maresca says an agreement is close to being reached between Chelsea and Acheampong and he is prepared to give. The young right-back a chance to start against Astana.
“He will travel and he’ll probably start,” Maresca said to ยูฟ่าเบท http://ufabet999.app. “
With Josh, it’s pretty clear. We all love Josh, the club love Josh, I love Josh and we will try to find a way to agree a deal with the player. It’s close. “It’s almost an agreement.”
Chelsea face an eight-hour flight to face Astana after their home ground was moved to Almaty in the south of the country. After renovations forced the game to be moved. The
flight will take longer because the plane has to take a detour and cannot fly through Ukraine, Russia and Syria at the moment. The weather forecast says they could face temperatures of -11C. Chelsea then
fly back to London on Friday morning before taking on Brentford on Sunday. Who are four points behind Liverpool in the Premier League but have played a game more.
